The Verlinden Collection

A personal dedication from Jason Miller, founder of Page & Provenance

Every story begins somewhere. Ours began with a traveler named Johan "Han" Verlinden — a man whose shelves held the world, and whose mind wandered further still.

When I met Han, I was a teenager without direction or belonging. Books were the only constants in a world that didn't feel safe. He noticed. He didn't offer rescue. He offered understanding. He showed me that words could be both anchor and horizon — that the written world could carry you farther than circumstance ever could.

Han taught me that to collect books is to collect perspectives; to gather the lives, places, and moments that expand a person's sense of what's possible. This collection — and this entire platform — exists because of him.

I built this page to honor his memory and his influence. To show that mentorship matters. That curiosity is contagious. That a man who shared his love of travel literature with a lost kid could spark something that would grow into a platform helping thousands preserve their own literary heritage.
